Each year, Earth Day—April 22—marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. A day celebrated all over the world with a pledge to conserve and protect.
Students in the Bay St. George area took several initiatives to conserve, preserve and protect our earth. Maintaining a safe and healthy world in which we all can work and live was key to a group of Stephenville Middle School students who used Earth Day to kick off their Book Swap project. The idea is to collect books to enjoy and share until Mental Health Week (May 2-8, 2016). In doing so, they are reducing their environmental footprint, while encouraging positive Mental Health.
